Giuseppe Rava is one of the world’s leading Napoleonic art illustrators — an Osprey Publishing artist since 2007 with over 40 titles to his name. This collection brings together his most celebrated napoleonic war paintings: from the Imperial Guard at Austerlitz to the Polish lancers at Leipzig, from Marshal Ney’s last stand at Waterloo to the hussars of the Grande Armée charging at Eylau.
Each print is reproduced from Rava’s original gouache and watercolour paintings with museum-grade pigment inks on 350g fine art cardboard, signed and numbered in limited editions of 300. The result is napoleonic art of documentary precision and painterly drama — accurate to the last button on every uniform, yet alive with the movement and violence of battle.
