The 19th century was the age of the professional soldier, the colonial campaign and the industrial battlefield. Giuseppe Rava’s 19th century military art captures it all: the British redcoat in the Crimea, the Zulu warrior at Isandlwana, the bersaglieri of the Italian Risorgimento, the cavalry charges of the Franco-Prussian War.
